Chuck Vanasse is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Prio, Inc. With a 20-year history of business success in the Enterprise Software, Internet Services, and Media sectors, he has served as owner-operator of leading firms that have brought innovations to market.
Chuck founded Saepio Technologies, which introduced the first Internet based Web-to-print agile media solution. He also founded Claimport, which introduced the first digital workman’s compensation claim fulfillment system, and was later acquired by HNC Software. In founding Unicom Communications, Chuck helped establish the original SET standard for live credit card clearance technology on the internet in contributing toward the original universal basis for electronic transactions. Unicom Communications was later sold to Rocky Mountain Internet. Chuck earned his B.S. in Journalism Broadcast Media and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Kansas.
Terry Daffinrud serves as Chief Financial Officer for Prio, with more than 30 years experience in executive management and accounting services.
Previously, Terry served as CFO, President, COO and CEO during his tenure with AVI Systems, an innovative integrator of video and audio visual systems. Under his executive leadership, AVI became one of the top five companies in the AV industry. Terry was responsible for evaluating, negotiating and integrating AVI’s acquisitions of eight firms, and designing a succession plan to transition ownership from AVI’s founders to its employees. Before joining AVI, Terry founded his own CPA firm, which he grew to a staff of 10 within four years and merged with another regional accounting firm. Terry earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Mary, and holds Certified Public Accountant Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) certifications.
Nelson, who serves as General Counsel and VP of Administration, practiced corporate law at a top 150 major law firm for over thirty years and more recently served as Executive VP for Administration and General Counsel for the largest medical school in the State of Missouri during a period of transition of that institution's administration.
During his career, Nelson was General Counsel for Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center and worked with MTC's across the country, split out the "State Science & Technology Institute" from the Battelle Foundation, spun "Kauffman Fellows" venture capitalist training program out of the Kauffman Foundation and continued to serve as its counsel, serves on the Board and as counsel for the Kansas City Region "Missouri Innovation Center", and served on the Board and as counsel for what is now known as M&I Bank in Kansas City. He served as Chairman of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, on the national Board of the American Cancer Society, and the Boards of Menorah Medical Center and Johnson County Community College.
Nelson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia and, after three years in the military, graduated from Duke University School of Law, where he served on "Board of Editors" for its Law Journal.
Matthew Barrow brings more than 20 years experience in development to his role as Chief Software Architect and co-founder. He has extensive experience in implementing distributed software systems and sophisticated mathematical algorithms (digital photogrammetry, graph theory, 3-D animation, self-learning systems).
Previously, Matthew held positions as a software consultant working with world-class enterprise clients, including Sprint. While working with Sprint, Matthew implemented various communications-related operational prototypes as well as software that was deployed into the PCS production network. Matthew also previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer for GDE Systems, formerly General Dynamics Electronics Division.
Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Warwick University in England He is an inventor of nine US patents in the communications field.
Tom Holmes, VP General Manager Operations for Prio brings more than 25 years of telecom management experience to his leadership role for Prio.
Before Prio, Tom was a longtime management leader for Sprint’s network services team. Tom led the advanced technology development teams for the converged networking development initiatives and built strategic partnerships with corporations including Telecordia, Cisco and many other industry leaders. Tom was able to lead teams in many networking design and product marketing efforts in all major areas of international and domestic telecommunications.
Tom has a experience rich background in designing, developing and implementing new solutions and his broad range of technical, professional and management experiences compliment his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
